A man is in serious condition after being rescued from the water at Cape Spencer, on the southern tip of the York Peninsula.
South Australian Police said there were reports of a 10-year-old being swept away by rocks around 9.40am.
A man, who was fishing from rocks, reportedly jumped into the ocean to rescue the boy.
They said he was able to bring the boy to safety but then struggled with the water.
Paramedics helped the man who was in a serious but stable condition.
