Amy Robach and TJ Holmes arrived together at ABC headquarters to tape “GMA 3” as if “nothing happened” despite news of their alleged affair breaking up, an insider tells Page Six exclusively.
“While producers were freaking out and having meetings about whether it was right to put them back on the air together, they showed up as a couple and said they were ready and totally fine to go on the air,” claims the source.
As Page Six reported, Robach and Holmes began their alleged romance while training for the New York City Half Marathon in March, but left their respective spouses, Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig, only in August.
“Their attitude seems to be that they’re both divorced, and now they’re together, so there’s nothing to hide,” the insider adds.
“GMA 3” aired at 1 p.m. ET, but was taped earlier on Thursday after the earlier live “GMA” show, in which the co-anchors opted to ignore the drama, ended.
Another insider tells us exclusively that the scandal has risen as high as newly returned Disney CEO Bob Iger. Disney owns ABC.
“Bob Iger was made aware of the affair on Tuesday and has been in close contact with ABC News president Kim Godwin,” the second source claims. “Their decision is a wait and see attitude.
“Amy and TJ are peers, they have – obviously – great chemistry on TV. They are both divorced from their husbands. They are free to be a couple.”
The “Love is Blind” season 2 star said she…
The source adds, “In some ways this is TV gold, but let’s hope they don’t break up.”
As Page Six reported, production staff were “shocked” to learn that Robach, 49, and Holmes, 45, had reportedly become romantic despite their sizzling on-air chemistry.
“They have a really cozy relationship on the air, but that’s what’s expected. But behind the scenes, they were very careful to keep their affair a secret,” an insider said. “The producers of ‘GMA’ are shocked to learn they are having an affair.”
Two weeks before Thanksgiving, photos obtained by the Daily Mail showed the co-anchors on a getaway to a remote cottage. Holmes was recorded grabbing Robach’s ass while leaning into the trunk of a car.
Neither Shue nor Fiebig have acknowledged the state of their marriage, but Shue did remove Robach from his Instagram page.
Representatives did not return Page Six’s request for comment.
