Baby milk shortage faces investigation by lawmakers

WASHINGTON — The House Oversight Committee has launched an investigation into four major infant formula manufacturers, including Similac and Enfamil, and requested information regarding supply shortages that have left many brands out of business.

In letters to corporate CEOs, the House Oversight Chair Caroline Maloney (D., New York) and actor. Raja Krishnamurthy (D., Illinois), the chief Democrat on the committee’s Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy, asked when they became aware of supply shortages and what steps they would take to increase supply.
