Britney Spears made a devastating announcement Saturday.
The Grammy winner posted a joint message on her Instagram telling her fans that she and fiancé Sam Asgari had lost their pregnancy.
“It is with great sadness that we announce that we lost our miraculous baby early in pregnancy,” Spears wrote. “This is a difficult time for any parent. We may have had to wait for the announcement to move on but we were so excited to share the good news. Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue to try to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all your support. We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult moment.”
The letter was signed by Sam and Britney.
Spears announced the pregnancy in April. The couple has been open about their desire to start a family. During her tenure, she testified that she wanted to have a baby, but her supervisors forbade her off contraception.
The singer is the mother of two teenage sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
