Fx Renews Jeff Bridges Led Old Man

FX has quickly handed out a second season order of its new espionage thriller series “The Old Man” starring Jeff Bridges as a retired spook pulled back into the spy world.

The order comes three episodes into the show’s seven-episode first season with ratings so far proving strong. FX says that including three days of delayed viewing, the show is the most-watched cable series premiere since the start of 2021 and the top FX series on Hulu during its opening weekend.

Based on the bestselling novel by Thomas Perry, Bridges plays ex-CIA operative Dan Chase who abandoned his job and has lived off the grid for decades. He soon gets flushed out of hiding when an assassin tracks him down and tries to kill him.

John Lithgow, Amy Brenneman, Alia Shawkat, E.J. Bonilla, Bill Heck, Leem Lubany, and Pej Vahdat also star in the series adapted for television by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine. Jon Watts (“Spider-Man: No Way Home”) directed the first two episodes.
