IN a leaked video that surfaced online of Gabriel Jesus wearing the Arsenal jersey, his kit number has been revealed.
The footage shows the striker walking around the Emirates Stadium in the Gunners’ shirt with the No.9 on his back.
This is the same number he wore for Manchester City in the last three seasons and has had a number of times for the Brazil national side.
The leaked video appears to show the Brazilian with the club’s media team preparing for the unveiling of the signing.
Fans are now waiting for the official announcement but the deal is all but done.
This comes soon after Jesus was pictured in a SunSport exclusive hugging Arsenal chief Edu as he arrived at hospital for his medical.
Some of the faithful from the red side of North London saw the funny side of the unusual reveal: “Like we need an Arsenal announcement anyway.”
Supporters were quick to list some of the club’s former No.9’s such as Alexandre Lacazette, Lukas Podoloski, Eduardo and Paul Merson.
Meanwhile, City fans were disappointed about his departure, one stated: “Sad day it is” while another said “doesn’t suit red looks strange”.
The deal is expected to be worth £45million with the player signing a five-year deal.
Mikel Arteta has been eager to sign a striker this summer to provide competition with Eddie Nketiah after Lacazette’s departure.
The manager appears to have made Jesus his fourth signing of the transfer window, following Marquinhos, Fabio Vieira and Matt Turner.
