A cute family of fox cubs decided that a family garden in a built-up area is actually their personal playground.
The six kids and their parents visit at any time of the day, bringing various things with them to enjoy, including someone’s garden glove (I hope they don’t miss them), a towel and even a pair of underwear.
Steve Midgley took some lovely pictures of them in the urban park in Halifax, West Yorkshire, saying they like to make a lot of noise.
“The cubs are very friendly,” he said.
They know I’m there either in secret or sitting in disguise and I can get very close. However, adults are very shy and hardly come out when I’m in the dark.
“They live in a very built-up area surrounded by houses, but they are a pleasure to sit and watch and photograph.”
He said he likes to practice jumping as the mother pulls on a towel while her children chase after her.
The 59-year-old manager visits his friend’s garden to take pictures.
He said: They make a lot of noise especially when they chase each other or fight over food.
It seems that mom or dad brings home things they find for the cubs to play with. We’ve picked all kinds of clothes from T-shirts and hats to socks and knickers.
“You never know what you’ll find on the grass in the morning.”
