Warning! Spoilers for The Boys comic book and streaming series below

One of Homelander’s strangest obsessions gets the comic book treatment, as Russ Braun, one of the main artists for The Boysbrings the Supes’ love to milk in creepy new art. In the image, Braun does his take on Antony Starr’s version of Homelander from the Amazon adaptation of the comic series he worked on. The result is an image that captures the character’s bizarre nature and oddest obsession.

Homelander is one of the most complex, ego-driven villains in The Boys streaming series, where Antony Starr’s portrayal of the Supe has earned praise for bringing the utterly terrifying character to life. However, the comic book version, created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, of Homelander was quite different from the live-action adaptation. From not really having a romance in the comics, having a clone specifically built to kill him, and considerable changes to his origin, Homelander’s two versions have significant differences. However, one key change in the character for the show was Homelander’s obsession with breastmilk, which was an incredibly strange (yet effective way) of showing the villain’s infantilization fetish. Now, that obsession gets the comic book treatment.

Artist Russ Braun, who worked on 25 issues of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s The Boys comic book series, shared his take on Homelander’s milk obsession. The creepy image features Antony Starr’s version of the Supe drinking milk from a bottle with his tongue sticking out as the liquid spills down his face. The Homelander art is in Braun’s styledespite the character never actually having a milk obsession in the comics – as the bizarre character trait¬†was created for The Boys streaming series.

The sketch on The Boys’ blank cover is the latest image from Braun showcasing the live-action version of Homelander’s creepy nature behind his incredible powers. Earlier this month, the artist captured what makes Antony Starr’s Homelander terrifying with a different piece. However, seeing Braun’s take on Homelander’s strange milk obsession is an even more twisted take on the hero from The Boys artist.

Despite his extraordinary powers and menacing presence, seeing Homelander drink milk, whether that was from a bottle or directly from the source, remains extremely disturbing. A grown man with that much power acting like a baby is deeply messed up. However, with the new comic art from Russ Braun, his unusual obsession gets a new look, which doesn’t make it seem any less bizarre. But, what makes Homelander so captivating is that he¬†marches to the beat of his own drum, which unfortunately includes the strange obsession in The Boys.
