Alarm clocks in Kim Kardashian’s house sound a little different during the holiday season.
The four children the reality star shares with ex Kanye West – North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm – wake up to Christmas carols played live by Grammy-winning pianist Philip Cornish.
“It’s that time of year,” writes 42-year-old Kardashian in a video shared on Thursday via her Instagram Story.
“@Philthekeys comes by every morning to wake my kids up by playing the piano as the crazy morning rush takes place to soothe and fill their little souls with beautiful Christmas carols,” she continued.
In the short clip, Cornish sat at an all-white piano playing a festive song next to a glittering Christmas tree while North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4 and Psalm, 3 played in the background.
Another video showed the reality star’s youngest son curled up under a blanket on the couch listening to the holiday music.
While Kardashian claims the sophomore tradition helps her kids “calm down” before school, many social media users called the decision “out of reach.”
‘Well, isn’t that nice? Kim Kardashian pays someone to play the piano to wake her kids up in the morning. What’s wrong with just saying get the hell out of bed?!” one person tweeted.
“I think rich people don’t use Spotify,” said another person on a screen capture posted to Instagram by celebrity news blogger Amanda Hirsch.
βAnd that’s why she needs those 200,000 alimony a month. π,β a third person joked about Kardashian and Westβs hefty child support deal.
“Why do I feel like North doesn’t even like this and wake up and make a face or make fun of it lol,” another user said of Kardashian and West’s oldest child.
Meanwhile, other social media critics argued that the ‘Kardashians’ star only posted these clips to try to deviate from the recent Balenciaga backlash, with one writing, “Look there…. I have no deplorable behavior denounced against children. !β
Kardashian came under fire last week for waiting days to speak out against the fashion house after they used disturbing footage of toddlers holding BDSM teddy bears in an ad campaign.
βAs a mother of four, I am shocked by the disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the highest regard and efforts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society β period,β she said. wrote on Twitter Sunday, adding she was “disgusted and outraged” by the campaign.
After announcing that she was “re-evaluating” her relationship with the brand, the Skims founder declined their offer to star in an upcoming 2023 campaign.
In fact, it appears that the reality star β who has posed for several of their campaigns and walked in their runway show β has scrapped numerous Balenciaga outfits for upcoming events and has seemingly cut ties with the brand, according to TMZ.
The Spanish fashion house has apologized twice and has removed all the inconvenient ads from its official website. They also filed a $25 million lawsuit against the “third party” who created the images for “reckless negligence.”
