Essex County OPP has revealed that a dozen dirt bikes, four electric bicycles, a child-sized all-terrain vehicle and more were stolen in a late-night burglary at a Lakeshore business last week.
Lakeshore OPP agents responded to a report of a burglary incident at a property on Richardson Sideroad in the early hours of Nov. 23, around 2:50 a.m.
An on-site investigation and evidence determined that four suspects were responsible for the crime, resulting in stolen items with a combined value of more than $110,000.
In addition to the dirt bikes, electric bikes and ATVs, the thieves also took 20 off-road tires and a variety of riding gear.
Investigators believe the crime was committed using two pickup trucks, each with an enclosed trailer. Surveillance cameras captured the vehicles in action.
One of the trucks was a dark Dodge Ram, pulling a white double-axle enclosed trailer with the letters “LK” visible on the trailer’s rear door.
