Leak leads to police finding 170 cannabis plants in Chestnut Avenue, Tamworth

A leak led to police finding 170 cannabis plants in Tamworth. Police were called to a report of a large leak coming from the flat and that water was running down the walls in Chestnut Avenue, Tamworth on Thursday, June 23.

Nobody was present at the address at the time of entry and no current occupant details are known.

A Neighbourhood Alert sent out by Staffordshire Police PCSO John Horton confirms: “On June 23, officers were called to an address in Chestnut Avenue after a vulnerable adult reported a large leak coming from the flat above and that water was running down the walls.

“Officers and a locksmith from Tamworth Borough Council forced access into the property believed to be the source of the leak and discovered a cannabis grow.

“170 cannabis plants were found in the address. Nobody was present at the address at the time of entry and no current occupant details are known.
