FARKAS GETS IT DONE
Good to see Jeromy Farkas is doing well in his personal fundraising run up the west side of North America. Good can-do attitude. Meanwhile, Calgary has a failed arena deal, impending $87-billion climate bill, hush money for campaign managers, soon to be unfunded by the city charities, security cameras for councillors on the taxpayers, pensions, pensions, pensions. We didn’t just lose, we got screwed
(Jeromy looks like he is having the time of his life, and good on him. What an adventure.)
LEADERS A JOKE
The G7 leaders meeting in the peaceful Bavarian Alps to discuss Ukraine feels so out of touch. While Ukraine is being shelled with more missiles, the deaths and injuries continue to mount. The paper tigers joke about Vladimir Putin’s appearance and photo ops. The lack of strength and leadership by this group has emboldened Putin. The food and energy crisis, the death of children, the separation of families, are issues that require serious adults making the difficult decisions. The people of Ukraine are shielding the rest of the world from Putin right now, please stop making them pay the price for your inability to lead.
(The Canadian people are not happy with any of this, we’d suggest.)
Re: Sundre float. Lighten up people, that was sarcasm at its best. Had that appeared in the paper, it would have been labelled a political cartoon. More proof no one has a sense of humour and everything is racist. Poor babies, living such a sheltered life.
(We all know that dressing up like a Sikh will draw harsh criticism, and rightfully so.)
NOT THAT BAD?
Why does anyone think the float in Sundre was racist. It says it like it is. The leader of the NDP siding with the Liberals to spread their BS.
(And if only they could have got that message out while not insulting a whole race with the costume BS.)
I can’t believe that with all the crap going on in their countries and all the crap going on in the world, that Boris Johnson and our PM, after flying around the world, pretending to care about these crises, are having an argument about whose plane is bigger and laughing about it. What is wrong with our politicians today? Popularity and politics over care and consideration seems to be the answer. Just keep putting that foot in your mouth, Mr. PM, and keep ranting about climate change while you fly around the world to argue whose plane is bigger.
(In a word, sickening.)
Re: Typical CBC reaction. Leave it to the state broadcaster, the CBC, to call the float that was paraded in Sundre as being racist. Look at the characters and you’ll see Justin Trudeau driving the tractor and Jagmeet Singh riding in the manure spreader. This is a political statement, not a racist statement. No doubt Trudeau and Singh will rush to Sundre to express their rage.
(They are not wrong. Find a better way to protest without being racist and you are good to go.)
