Letters September 23: A Strong Leader Is Needed In Alberta To Stand Up To Federal Liberals

Article content

I understand Val Scofield’s view of her distrust of Danielle Smith. She has shown to me a lack of understanding of the Alberta Sovereignty Act. Quebec and Saskatchewan already have one and no, it’s not illegal. Disinformation is huge in this culture. You say, “Damn it, Danielle.” I say, “Damn your lack of understanding of what’s really at stake.” We wouldn’t need this law if Trudeau stayed out of county business. So, what is your solution to this problem or are you like the liberals and blaming everyone for their misery? Someone has to get up. What do you propose as a solution to prevent Trudeau from trying to destroy Alberta?

(Many Alberta politicians talk about a big game, but end up bowing to federal powers.)

SERIOUS BUSINESS

Justin Trudeau sing-along from Bohemian Rhapsody shouldn’t surprise anyone. If you let the jester into the palace, he won’t become a prince, but the palace will become a circus.

BILL CRAWFORD

(We think he would be better at Under Pressure.)

A LITTLE LAYER

What an inappropriate cartoon in Wednesday’s paper. Shame on the person who does it.

A. MIKKELSEN

(Save your shame comments for something that really matters.)

NO ENCORE FOR YOU

Our Prime Minister is an embarrassment to all of Canada and the whole world. He further cemented that position by trying to sing Bohemian Rhapsody in an English pub. I sang it better in a Mexican pub when I probably had as many drinks as he did. Our Prime Minister is not doing our country any good, either nationally or on the global stage. He must be dropped as soon as possible.

(Let’s not overreact here.)

LONDON RAPSODY

I’m so glad you published this true story of Justin Trudeau singing and perhaps drinking in his hotel bar while in London for the Queen’s funeral. Was an interesting story. The TV news channels had nothing to say about it, trying to protect Trudeau from immature and embarrassing noises. Trudeau made headlines in the UK

Ivy GRAY

(Who hasn’t mutilated a Queen song after a few bevvies?)

TOP OF THE POPS

Yet another display of outrageous behavior by Canada’s “leader”. It was totally inappropriate to sing pop songs in a bar on the eve of the Queen’s funeral. He clearly treated his trip to Britain as just a holiday trip. The GG should fire him.

VERA McINTOSH

(The GG should have done some backing vocals. And it wasn’t on the eve of the funeral.)

TAKE A WALK, JAGMEET

I read a statement that NDP leader Jagmeet Singh sees no reason to work with Pierre Poilievre. That’s fine. If there are elections, Poilièvre will gain a majority. So no need for help from a weak person or party, such as the NDP.

ED SKELDING

(What a joke he is.)
