A huge fire has broken out in Gravesend this afternoon (June 26). Nine fire engines have rushed to the scene of a serious incident in Jubilee Crescent.
The fire is reportedly affecting multiple properties in the road. Crews were first called at around 1.10pm.
First images show crowds of people watching on as the fire tears through several houses. A number of properties appear to have already suffered serious damage. It’s not yet known if anyone is trapped inside or hurt.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said its firefighters are wearing breathing apparatus using a high-pressure hose reel jet, as well as main hose jets to tackle the flames.
A spokesman said: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service are currently at the scene of a fire on Jubilee Crescent, Gravesend which is affecting multiple properties. There are currently nine fire engines, a height vehicle and the technical rescue team in attendance.”
