Longhorns’ fallout after unprecedented recruiting weekend momentous

Arch Manning committing to Texas over the weekend sent a ripple effect throughout college football recruiting and immediately led to a slew of commitments for the Longhorns’ 2023 cycle during an unprecedented multiday stretch of major wins for Steve Sarkisian and his coaching staff.

Manning was the first domino in a string of commitments for the Longhorns, who now hold the nation’s fifth-best class for 2023 per the 247Sports Composite following verbals from offensive lineman Jaydon Chatman, Trevor Goosby, Connor Stroh, Andre Cojoelinebacker Liona Lefau and wide receiver Jonah Wilson.

Not only did Texas land its face of the franchise and reshape its offensive line over the weekend, but Lefau is a four-star defender and top-rated player in Hawaii while Wilson is a four-star pass-catcher from Houston with offers from Texas A&M, Ohio State, LSU and Arkansas, among others.
