Officials fear a triple homicide involving children under the age of five was committed Friday in Vadnais Heighs, Minnesota.

Two children were recovered from Lake Vadnais in Minnesota — one on Friday and one on Saturday — and emergency responders were searching for another child and a woman believed to be the children’s mother.

“There seems to be a terrible set of facts developing,” Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher said Friday night. “We don’t know the certainty of all three children, but have recovered one child. There is nothing more tragic than the loss of young children.”

The second child was found, KSTP said.
