Mississauga man charged in crash that killed 15-year-old

A Mississauga man has been charged after allegedly drinking and driving. A fatal accident took the life of a 15-year-old girl. The incident, which occurred in Brampton last week, has been confirmed.

Officers with Peel Regional Police were called to the area of ​​McLaughlin Road and Horwood Drive around 8.15pm on July 12 following reports of what authorities described as a violent collision.

It was determined the accident involved two vehicles and after the collision, one of the vehicles spun onto the sidewalk, striking the victim, a 15-year-old girl from Brampton who was walking in the area, killing her.

A second pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene of the crash.

On July 12, a 36-year-old man, Mandeep Singh, from Mississauga, was charged with failing or refusing to comply with a request resulting in death (alcohol consumption), dangerous driving causing death and driving whilst intoxicated causing death.

He is due to appear in court on July 26th.
