Pages from Brian Laundrie’s Notebook Released by Attorney – CBS Tampa

NORTH PORT, Fla. (CW44 News At 10 | CNN) – Brian Laundrie’s family lawyer released eight pages of Laundrie’s notebook on Friday that was found near his remains in Florida last October, according to a press release.

In the notebook, Laundrie wrote in part, “I’m sorry to anyone who will influence this. Gabby was the love of my life, but I know he is adored by many. I’m very sorry for her family, because I love them.”

On another page, he wrote that Petito was injured and tried to help her.

“I don’t know how bad Gabby’s pain (sic) was, just that she was in extreme pain. I ended her life, I thought it was merciful, that it was what she wanted, but now I see all the mistakes I’ve made. I panicked. I was shocked. But from the moment I decided to take her pain away, I knew I couldn’t go on without her,” he wrote.

Petito’s cause of death was considered strangulation and the manner of death was murder, said Dr. Brent Blue, Teton County coroner.

The Laundrie family’s attorney, Steven Bertolino, said he released the notebooks after meeting with the FBI and Petito’s family attorney where they collected Petito and Laundrie’s personal belongings.

“As part of this return of properties in FBI custody, I was given Brian’s notebook. I would like to share the message referred to by the FBI on Jan. 21, 2022, that Brian claimed responsibility for Gabby Petito’s death,” Bertolino said.

Bertolino has released eight pages of the notebook and it is unknown what their order is in the recovered notebook.

On the last released page, Laundrie wrote: “I committed suicide by this creek in the hopes that animals (sic) can tear me apart. That it can make part of her family happy.”

The last words on the page, written in a different pen than the last, said, “Please, pick up all my things. Gabby hated people who messed up.”
