Policy changes needed to improve family medicine

We need to rethink how we view – and train – the family medicine specialty.

The Department of Medical Economics recently met with Dr. Timothy Huff, who wrote the new book, “Looking for a Family Physician: Primary Care on the Brink.”

Hof is Professor of Management, Health Care Systems, and Health Policy at Northeastern University in Boston, and author of two other books on primary care: “Next in the Line: Low-Care Expectations in the Age of Retail and Value-Based Health” and “Practice under Stress: Primary Care Physicians and Their Medicine in the twenty-first century.”

In this video, Hof discusses the policy changes needed to improve family medicine and primary care.
