The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary wants to crack down on aggressive driving and illegal vehicle modifications this summer.
As the weather warms, more people will travel through communities and highways. RNC Traffic Services and Operational Patrol Services will partner with Highway Enforcement to ensure roads remain safe.
Police say speeding, stunting, distracted driving and drink-driving continue to endanger people across the province, and illegal vehicle modifications that increase noise levels remain a problem.
The RNC is asking anyone who witnesses impaired or aggressive driving or illegal vehicle modifications to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
They also ask residents not to post about police checks on social media, to prevent violators from continuing to endanger the community.
