The deadly collision occurred on January 7 at approximately 8:30 p.m. Responding to 911 calls, officers discovered a pedestrian on the roadway in the Senter Road and Capitol Expressway area.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the extended cab truck was traveling north on Senter Road in lane No. 1 just north of the intersection with Capitol Expressway when it struck an adult male pedestrian crossing the road.

The pedestrian was outside a marked zebra crossing. He was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries a week later. His identity was not released.

The man was the third fatal accident involving a pedestrian in 2022 in San Jose.
