Slice of Jolimont to become the Victoria Park of western suburbs

A property development company is set to turn a vacant block in Jolimont into the Victoria Park of the western suburbs.

WBG Property bought the 2305sqm block in the City of Subiaco for $4.35 million last week.

WBG recently developed the Belle Parc Residences in Victoria Park and has indicated it plans to draw on that project for its next development.

WBG project director Jay Wan said the Jolimont site would continue the company’s “legacy of creating homes that re-define luxury and comfort”.

The site at 187 Salvado Road is zoned to allow development between four and six storeys, with a plot ratio of 2 to 1.

This could mean more than 40 residential apartments may be built.

Ray White adviser Michael Milne said the property was “in the perfect position of both size and scale”.

“It’s a 2305sqm rectangular site situated at the front of the award-winning Parkside Walk residential estate, a boutique inner western suburb location,” Mr Milne said.

“It’s a disused local council depot site created by Development WA and the Town of Cambridge.”

Mr Milne said the western suburbs property development market was holding up despite other projects in WA being shelved due to rising construction costs.

“Development site sales have been a challenge due to building cost and capacity to complete issues, which is a widespread problem,” he said.

“That stated, the local Jolimont and Wembley market is strong.”
