Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are already getting excited about the inevitable prospect of Doctor Doom’s debut, but there’s an argument to be made to keep the iconic villain out of constant development. The Fantastic Four Restarting may be the best course of action.
After all, we already have four films depicting the titular team of three different formations, and each of them introduced the Latvian dictator. Joseph Culp, Julian McMahon and Toby Kebbell filled the role, but none of them exactly managed to make a big impression.
But, Vant forstick Writer Jeremy Slater revealed in an interview with ComicBook that his original draft of the script featured two main comic book antagonists, before he ended up returning to Doom’s Well instead.
“We had Annihilus in my original draft The Fantastic Four When they first went into the negative zone they were attacked. In the first draft, Galactus attacked them and the whole scheme, Galactus had released some kind of cosmic radiation through the portal and then I found out that Galactus was somehow tracking that radiation and was on its way to Earth.
In the second draft, they actually encountered Annihilus who was 20 feet tall and kinetic. I made it into a T-Rex from Jurassic Park And the way he was going to sort of hunt and attack, it looks like he’s the one who killed Victor and they barely got back through the gate in time, but it seemed like a really fun way or a fun way to use Annihilus I hadn’t seen before.
For one of a thousand reasons, this was something that changed in this movie. But the good news is that it hasn’t been used yet. It’s still there, and it’s awesome. So I have no doubt that Annihilus will appear at some point, it’s just a matter of whether it is The Fantastic Four Or is it part of different things from the MCU cosmic universe? I don’t know.”
Annihilus and Galactus have been heavily rumored for the MCU, so as Slater says, it’s a case of when and not if there’s a big possibility, regardless of whether or not Doom is heading up the evil side of the franchise. The Fantastic Four.
