Thor: Love and Thunder star Natalie Portman has opened up about her role in the Marvel success Avengers: Endgame.
In a surprising turn of events, Portman’s Jane Foster appeared in Asgard during a flashback sequence, as Thor had to go back in time to the events that took place in Thor: The Dark World. Now she has opened up about what actually went down to make that scene happen.
As has been revealed before, Portman did not actually record any new scenes for the film, as directors Joe and Anthony Russo simply used old, never-before-seen footage of her from the other. Thor movie. “A little bit of voice-over when she speaks in the distance, that’s it,” Anthony Russo said Weekly entertainment back then.

But she recorded a certain dialogue.
“It was very easy for me,” Portman said in a new interview with Variety. “I mean, it’s always great to see yourself, even if it’s only for a split second, in a Marvel movie, because you’re in places you’ve never been before. It’s like seeing pictures from a vacation, you never took or anything. “
The only other time we see Jane in the film is when a picture of her shows up while The Avengers are planning their “time theft”.

Portman had previously said back in 2016 that she was “done” with Marvel movies, but later left the door open. She has now revealed that she has been following the MCU over the years, but she did not know if she would ever be back.
“I have a 10-year-old boy,” she explained Variety, revealing that this is how she knew Jane still existed somewhere in the universe. But she “did not really know” if she would ever come back as she was excluded from Thor: Ragnarok. “They do not often make more than three films in a series,” she added.
But thanks to a new series of Thor comics that led to Jane Foster becoming the Mighty Thor, we’ll finally see Portman return to the franchise again. And we can not wait.
Thor: Love and Thunder has a release date of July 7 in the UK and July 8 in the US. The other three Thor movies can now be streamed on Disney +.
