Update: Hwy 17 reopened near Sturgeon Falls

Updated June 29 at 8:50 p.m.: The Nipissing West OPP has advised on Twitter that it has reopened Highway 17 near Sturgeon Falls.

Officers were dispatched to a collision east of Landfill Site Road early this afternoon. The roadway was closed for about seven hours, from about 1:30 p.m. to around 8:45 p.m., with no detour available.

No details have been released this evening with any additional information about the incident.

Highway 17 east of Landfill Site Road in Sturgeon Falls is closed in both directions following a collision this afternoon.

Nipissing West OPP dispatched officers after receiving a call for service at around 1:31 p.m. June 29.

OPP, West Nipissing Fire Department and District of Nipissing West Paramedic Services all responded to the crash.

No details have been provided on the nature of the incident or injuries.

“The highway will be closed in both directions during the investigation and there is no detour at set up at this time.”
