Vancouver man arrested after throwing glass bottle at baby in stroller

Police are asking the family to come forward so they can progress the investigation

Vancouver police are investigating after a man threw a glass bottle at a baby in a stroller.

The shocking attack took place on June 27 around 4:30 pm at the intersection of Davie and Bidwell. A bystander who called police said the bottle did not hit the baby, but the contents were splashed on both the baby and the adults with him.

Police are asking the baby’s parents or guardians to call them so they can continue the investigation. The family left the scene before the police arrived.

“This attack seems completely unprovoked and must have been terrifying for everyone involved,” says Cst. said Tania Visintin. “Based on the description given by the witness to the police, a suspect has been arrested in the area.”

A 31-year-old man from Vancouver was arrested in connection with the attack.

Anyone with information is asked to call the investigators at 604-717-4022.
