Four senior ministers are expected to announce their retirement from politics at this year’s state elections in Victoria, forcing a major cabinet reshuffle.
All ministers delivered statements to Parliament this afternoon, reflecting on results within their respective portfolios.
Planning Minister Richard Wynne also announced his retirement ahead of the state election.
“We have good ministers going forward and I look forward to the rejuvenation of our cabinet,” he told 9News.
“James has been a wonderful friend and minister. The work he has done in the field of education has been quite extraordinary.”
The changes will mean Victoria will have her fourth health minister in four years.
Premier Daniel Andrews is expected to announce these retirements tomorrow.
