The structural engineer behind ABBA’s temporary auditorium in east London has been snapped up by rival Whitby Wood.
London-based Corbett & Tasker (C&T), which employs seven people, worked on the auditorium for the ABBA Voyage tour – a residency by the Swedish pop group which will run until October and depicts the group as they appeared in 1977 at the height of their fame.
C&T co-founder Peter Corbett joins Whitby Wood as an associate director while David Tasker will become a consultant.
Whitby Wood boss Sebastian Wood said: “It’s a remarkable practice with inventiveness and integrity and brings both complementary and additional specialist skills to our work.”
Corbett said: “Joining Whitby Wood gives us the space to develop our specialisms and the opportunities to showcase our work to new client audiences.”
Whitby Wood, which employs 70 people in the UK and the remainder across the Middle East and India, focusses on structural timber, retrofit and refurbishment.
