Woman seriously injured after hit-and-run in North York

A woman has been taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries after being the victim of a hit-and-run in North York.

Toronto Police were called to Wilson Avenue and Haymarket Road around 10 p.m. Wednesday for reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car.

Officers found a woman with life-threatening injuries. The driver fled, police confirmed.

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has been notified of road closures.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area as part of the investigation.
